Biography
Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo is a song writer/ music producer and recording artist who actually started his professional training as a lawyer, before retracing his steps to the yearning of his heart, which is doing music. The Nigerian musician who was born-blind on the 6th of January 1981 hails from Calabar, Cross Rivers State in South-South Nigeria. He got married to Ojuolape Veronica Olukanni in 2011.
In 2005, Cobhams was signed onto International label Sony ATV London as a songwriter, also worked as Head of Audio Productions for Questionmark Entertainment before setting up as CEO/ Head of Productions of CAMP (Cobhmas Asuquo Music Productions) which had the likes of Bez and became the first artist to be have an album ‘Super Sun’ released on the label in 2011.
The name Cobhams is associated with musicianship and top quality and this is evidenced in the long list of names he has worked with amongst which are Banky W, Omawunmi, Faze, Ego, Darey, Mo Chedda, Praiz, Omolara. He has arranged music and performed with International bands as ‘The Harare International Festival of Arts’, ‘AFA Sponsored French Culture Centre Concert, Johannesburg, MTV’s 100th Channel (MTV Base) Abuja. He has also won a host of awards both locally and internationally.
