Born on April 1, 1991, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng who performs under the Pseudonym Skales (Seek Knowledge Acquire Large Entrepreneurial Skills) is a successful Nigerian singer-songwriter/rapper.
The only child of his parents, Skales was born and raised in Kaduna and grew up in a church setting, but developed love for music while at his single mother's cassette store. The graduate of Office Management and Technology from Lead City University met producers Jeremiah Gyang and Jesse ‘Jagz’ Abaga while attending the University Of Jos which he left in his junior year, but not until he partook in the Zain Tru Search Competition and won the competition's North Central region. His debut single, "Must Shine", was released to critical acclaim and in 2009 he signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) after meeting Banky W who groomed him alongside Wizkid. Skales was one of the main acts on E.M.E's debut compilation album, “Empire Mates State of Mind” (2012). He collaborated with Banky W., Wizkid, Shaydee, Niyola and DJ Xclusive on five ("Baddest Boy", "Get Down Tonight", "Sun Mo Mi", "Ko Mo Le" and "Change") of the album's seven singles.
When his contract expired in February 2014, he left the label after they decided against a renewal owing to the fact that they felt they did not get good returns from their investing in him.
3 months later in May 2014, he floated his own label OHK music, which houses producer Drey Beatz and released his first single away from EME "Shake Body" off his "Man of the Year" album.
Soon enough, he signed a rumoured N200 million deal with Baseline Entertainment
