Biography
Words aren’t just enough is the moniker for the recording artiste and born Aituaje Iruobe. A sensational vocalist whose voice covers at least 3 octaves, Waje started singing in the choir and received a scholarship for her secondary school education on account of her superb performances. She received a degree in Social work from the University of Nsukka and counts Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Beyonce as her biggest musical influences.
Waje first came into the spotlight when she covered P-Square’s Omoge mi hit. P-Square would later invite her to add her vocals to their 2008 hit Do me. She also participated and finished runner up in the Airtel sponsored music competition, Advanced warning.
Her first album, the self-titled W.A.J.E was released in 2013 to critical acclaim and featured tracks such as I Wish, Onye and No be you.
In 2015, Waje headlined the song Strong girl, the theme song for ONE’s Poverty is Sexist, joining rock star Bono for the Lagos campaign.
