Sounds.Ng Top 40: Boogey, PayBac, Oladips and others rumble in with ‘Blood drive cypher’

Hello guys, hope you enjoyed the Easter Holidays, because we sure did.

This week on our Top 40 chart, we’re witnessing a near stalemate with our top ten songs. Save for Simi’s Love Don’t Care and Reminisce’ Asalamualekun swapping places, placing Alaga Ibile at the 9th spot and Simisola at the number 10 spot, our top ten remains essentially the same as the previous week’s. D’banj retains the top spot with Emergency  as well as every other artiste from last week’s top ten.

Video review: D’Banj’s ‘Emergency’ is a swell Fela tribute

New entries are not particularly making splashy entrances but D’banj signees 2Sec lands a 32nd spot with Follow Me Solo. Blood Drive Cypher a preppy hip-hop number by new wave rappers Drew, Young Soss, Paybac, Boogey and Oladips released last week also lands a spot closely behind 2sec at the number 33 spot.

We’re not sure if Mavins first lady Tiwa Savage has a deluxe version of her album in the works for release, but Bad featuring Wizkid is the latest single from the vixen. And it shares the same remniscent resolute and sensuous style with many songs off her most recent R.E.D LP.

Exiting songs this week are a mix of both late 2015 and early 2016 chart entries. Falz’ Clap featuring Reminisce off his Stories that touch album is one of such. The others include Skales’ Gum Body and Tillaman’s Oni Reason featuring Davido.
