The middle of the year standings on the top 40 chart are a great timeline tracker for some of the hits that have earned chart placements for most of the first half of the year. Like Tekno’s Wash and Yemi Alade’s Nagode, two singles that slipped into the charts in the later months of 2015, but are exiting the chart this week. Other songs in the same exit boat are Temmie Owasa’s Jabole, Iyanya’s Type of Woman and Korede Bello’s recently released One and Only.
New entries hardly make splashy debuts but Ice Prince’s Chike manages to land an 8th spot debut on the charts. Koker’s Kolewerk gathers momentum thanks to an equally charted remix featuring Olamide to land at the 11th spot. Rapper YCEE’s Omo Alhaji returns to the chart for a 15th spot placement after prematurely exiting a few weeks ago. Just in time for the season, MC Galaxy’s Summer Dance peaks at the 27th spot while DJ Spinall and Davido’s Package rounds off this week’s latest entries at the 36th spot.
This week’s top 10 songs have undergone some major shuffling. Mayorkun’s Eleko remains at the top of the charts, moving one place up from it’s former second spot placement. Olamide’s twin assaults, Who U Epp and Abule Sowo come up next respectively while Falz gathers momentum from his latest BET Viewers Choice Award win to land the 4th spot.
