Top 40: Olamide dominates despite splashy chart debut by Wizkid’s ‘Shabba’

As expected, this week’s new entries in the top 40 pack a lot more heat than punches as Wizkid makes a splashy seventh spot debut with Shabba, his latest cross-over attempt featuring Chris Brown, Trey Songz and French Montana. Lil Kesh is also welcomed back into the charts with Is It Because I Love You? as Falz, Skales and Tekno’s 406 Na D Code theme song for telecoms giant, MTN ieases out of the chart.

Wizkid landing the seventh spot via a song still gaining traction on the airwaves, has our top 10 slightly ruffled. Still, Olamide leads the chart with Abule Sowo replacing Mayorkun’s Eleko which now stands at a third spot where the Baddo was ranked before. Phyno also taps into some of this momentum from Olamide to land the second spot with Fada Fada. Who U Epp drops two places to land a fourth spot while Bad, Baddo, Baddest another Olamide assisted single by Falz featuring Davido sits at the fifth spot.

With Olamide in all but one chart placement on our top five songs, this is what our top 10 currently looks like.
