Sounds.ng Top 40: Yemi Alade’s ‘Ferrari’ rides out for Reekado Banks’ ‘Standard’

VIDEO: Reekado Banks – Standard

Mavin starlet Reekado Banks is in the final mile of the journey leading up to the release of his debut album. As he will be going full throttle in the coming months for promotion and marketing of  the highly anticipated Afropop debut and Standard comes just in time to signal-boost his pre-album drop campaign  with a 34th place standing barely three weeks after the single dropped.

But Reekado is not the only one who makes an impressive chart debut this week as Young John and Lil Kesh combine forces on a 13th spot charting Bend Down Select. YCEE’s Sun Mi, however, towers above all new entries with an unforeseen third spot placement after so many weeks of roaming the underground as a sleeper hit.

Thanks to YCEE at the third spot, our top 10 gleans songs slightly devoid of the Olamide domination that tore through our charts last week. However, Fada Fada where he was featured by Phyno still tops the chart. Olamide comes in next with Konkobility while Koker’s Kolewerk remix closely followed by Tinie Tempah and Wizkid’s summer jam, Mamacita comes in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Yemi Alade’s Ferrari and R&B polar-opposite Love Don’t Care by Simi are cleaned out of the charts this week alongside Money by Timaya and Flavour and L.A.X’s Ole featuring Dremo & Ycee. See our top 10 below and click here to get the full preview of our top 40.
