Niniola who is a graduate of Biology Education from the University of Lagos, seemingly had her passion for music right from a tender age such that she got the nickname ‘human radio’ from friends and family.
She however first had her chance in the spotlight in 2013 when she took part in the MTN Project Fame music reality show Season 6, where she emerged as the 3rd runner-up. Her failure to get the ultimate prize didn’t deter her, as she saw the platform her weekly performances had earned her and began to work towards getting the best out of it.
I remember the first time I heard the song ‘Ibadi’, which was her first official single outside the house, my immediate thoughts were ‘yet another song focused on a feminine part’ but as I listened to her vocals, I got captivated as she did do the usual in an unusual way.
Niniola takes her influences from the likes of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Madonna and Beyonce and she calls her genre of music Afro- House, which is supposedly a blend of African sound and house music. The songstress has since gone ahead to release other singles likes Gbowode, Akara Oyibo and the Sarz produced Soke, which is currently enjoying heavy spins on radio stations across the land. Within her short career, Niniola has gotten over 10 Award nominations which is a testament as to people beginning to notice the new female on the block and her gradual establishment as a name to watch out for in the industry.
The beautiful looking singer has a charity organization set up to cater for kids and is expected to release her debut album in the first quarter of 2016, we definitely will be anticipating.
