Since the album dropped in 2014, the closest we have gotten to experiencing Asa on tour is her many epic shots on Instagram, of her performing in different parts of the world and doing Nigeria music proud. That and of course her electrifying performance at the Etisalat Prize for Literature finale which held in Lagos last month.
Thankfully the soul singer is finally ready to hold a concert on a Nigerian stage next month.
Billed for the 1st of May, Asa will be holding her first ever live in concert event at the Eko Convention Center. The singer who has amassed accolades, 3 critically acclaimed albums as well as singles that top charts all over the world will be performing hits from her older LPs and songs from her most recent Bed of Stone album.
We don’t have any inside information yet on what she has in store for fans and music lovers, but with critics already nudging this as the most anticipated concert of the year, we expect this to be a one of a kind show in Nigeria for a long while.
Tickets are not going for cheap but in comparison to many other “live in concerts” of its kind held in Nigeria, the prices are not the worst you have heard. According to Cokobar.com, regular tickets will be sold for N9,100. Fans who are interested in a slightly better experience at the concerts will be parting away with a mere N13,700 for premium tickets, while VIP tickets cost just N27,200.
We heard what you’re thinking too, so yes, there are no N1million naira tables. This is a concert-concert not another elaborate politically sponsored money laundering scheme, as we have seen with some artistes whose big, bad names we cannot mention. You can get tickets here.
