Looking at Afrima 2015, the Best African Hip-Hop award category which is open to a Single or Album released digitally or physically within the year under review, the criteria is that the artiste(s) must be citizens of Africa or resident in Africa and the work must have had influence across Africa and of African music, but something is wrong there.
What is wrong with this category?
Everything is wrong with it. How can all the hip hop artistes we have in Nigeria miss out on getting a nomination? Is it that our hip hop artistes didn’t do enough in the year under review? Or is it that the organizers of Afrima are blind or being biased?
Well we do not think that our artistes dulled, so the later might be the reason.
Cassper Nyovest and M.anifest are the only nominated artistes that are worthy of going home with the prize. Would they get it or would Afrima show their biasness again?
We will know in a few days.
