The dancehall king who has 6 albums to his name has enjoyed a huge amount of success ever since he burst unto the scene with the release of his debut album ‘True Story’.
The egberi papa one of Bayelsa and Dem Mama soldier has waxed stronger since then and as he celebrates another year, we look at 5 reasons why we love the plaintain boy:
- He is genuinely talented: now unlike a lot of acts who truly have no business doing music, Timaya is one talented act who tells his story brilliantly and creatively, some of his hits include, Dem mama, Bumbum, Plantain boy, Malonegede, bow down and a long list of others.
- His fashion sense: Timaya has developed this hippy and trendy fashion sense that sets him apart from other artists, so either dressed traditionally or cutting his dreads, he manages to look smashing at every occasion.
- His grace to grace story: His story is an inspiration to any upcoming act that you can make something out of your life, the story of this young boy who grew from the streets of Bayelsa and sold plaintain at some point, even backed up the likes of Eedris Abdulkareem when he first came to Lagos to the mega superstar touring worldwide today.
- Helping other acts: Patoranking today holds his success largely to Timaya, acts like Skales also tell the story of how he took him into his house and tutored him whilst he has built a team of Dem Mama Soldiers that has the likes of Recoba with whom they released a joint album titled L.L.N.P.
5 Living his dreams: The father of two has a fleet of luxurious cars that will make a car show room jealous, he owns over 6 top automobiles which includes a Mercedes G-Wagon and also replaced the Bentley he bashed earlier this year, Timaya who also completed his mansion recently shared a picture of him meeting with U.S pop star Rihanna, he is sure living his dreams.
Happy birthday to the Egberi papa one of Bayelsa.
