The director is paid to conceive the video’s artistic aspect and with the right visuals could be able to turn a song into a major hit.

A peek into our various music channels or even online blogs and you will see artists dropping videos on a daily basis, top-notch videos don’t exactly come cheap but this has not deterred the act who wants to get his music out there to a larger audience, there are a lot of music video directors on the horizon but for every five videos you watch, some names keep popping up, these are some of the five top video directors who can really shoot with the camera in their hands.

CLARENCE PETERS: CEO, Capital Dream pictures, filmmaker, cinematographer and son of Shina Peters and Clarion Chukwura has been on top of his game for years now. He is arguably the most sought after director in the land and almost singlehandedly has a monopoly on top videos as for every 5 video you see, at least two bears the CAPital imprint. Rumored to command a minimum of 2Million per video and recently released his debut short film titled HEX, there is no stopping this dreaded genius for now.

PATRICK ELIS: One of the fast rising video directors in the land, Patrick has been holding it down since his days of directing ‘Wizkid’s ‘Holla at your boy’ and he stays impressing with his style.

MOE MUSA: This UK born and raised broadcaster is also in high demand especially when you have a shoot outside Nigeria, he was the brain behind Tiwa Savage’s controversial video Wanted and has worked with the likes of EME, Mavins, Wande Coal, Iyanya and gained international attention working on Fuse ODG’S ‘Antenna’. His videos always come in glossy with proper lighting effects and since emerging on the scene, he has been a force to be reckoned with.

UNLIMITED LA: For Olalekan Buari popularly known as Unlimited LA, life as a cinematographer is a dream come true, credited with Olamide’s ‘Eleda Mi’ video which has over one million Youtube views. This director who seems to enjoy shooting outside of the country also commands a huge fee when called upon.

KEMI ADETIBA:  The only female on the list is one worthy of her place in the hall of fame for video directors, the award winning female cinematographer rarely shoots them many, but the few she lays her lens on are always a standout from the bunch. Recently involved in a controversy with MI over the Original video for ‘Bullion Van’, her many other works though are proof of her creative talents.
