Year 2015 is officially less than two months from having its curtains drawn, and at this time of the year, stocks are being taken, achievements are been reflected on and praise given to those due. If the Hip-hop scene was the NBA finals, then YBNL’S Lil Kesh will go down as the Rookie of the year, the young cat has definitely grown from strength to strength dropping hit songs that no one sees coming. Right off the back of the success of his debut single ‘Shoki’ which became a street anthem with its distinct dance steps, the Olamide protégé has not looked back ever since.
Born Keshinro Ololade, Lil Kesh has plunged himself into the industry with his raw lyrics, energy and passion. He later released ‘Shoki remix’ featuring label boss Olamide and pop sensation Davido which also gathered major airwaves across the land. For critics who doubted his rap skills, he released ‘Lyrically’ and ‘I No Well ft Enigma’, then there was Shoki the female version, ‘Efejoku’ is another club banger and ‘Is It because I love you’ where he featured Patoranking further proves his versatility. A host of features have also come his way whilst he keeps rocking stages nationwide and beyond including the recent YBNL concert in UK. His yearning fans may however have to wait longer for his debut album as his label boss recently announced that the release date has been shifted till next year. Lil Kesh has been one of the hottest and consistent rappers this year and surely is the Rookie of the year.
