Simi 1-938x535For Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye popularly known as Simi, music is that which she does and does best, the mass communication graduate from Covenant University is finally getting her deserved time in the spotlight. She started out at a very early age as a member of the teenage choir in her church and was able to launch her debut album in 2008 which went largely unnoticed. She later got a production contract with OMP (Oscar Music Productions) and went ahead to release her EP titled Restless in early 2014 which was self arranged and mixed by her with production support from her partners.

The story has however changed over the last two years for this talented songstress and songwriter who double as a producer/engineer as she is steadily climbing the ladder unto stardom. In 2004, she officially got signed unto advertising guru Steve Babaeko’s X3M Music, which is also home to RnB star Praiz. Her first official singles on the label were ‘E no go funny’ and ‘Tiff’ with the latter going ahead to become one of the biggest songs of 2014. With her fusion of Pop and Afro- soul sound, Simi has been winning her way into the hearts of music lovers.

After the successful release of her singles, she went ahead to drop the massive hit ‘Jamb Question’, which was followed with a colorful and concept driven video featuring rapper Falz on the remix. Simi has a unique style, sultry tone and concept driven lyrics that stands her out, she is also credited with arranging and mixing Adekunle Gold’s ‘Orente’ and as she continues to work on her official album on X3M Music, critics and lovers expect it to fully cement her place as one of the new generation of leading females in the industry.

She recently got three nominations at the upcoming Headies Awards and won ‘Most Promising Act to watch’ at the NEA Awards 2015, the sky indeed is even not the limit for this sensational act.
